NSO NSO NSO by Fr. Ben Agbo — Lyrics
About NSO NSO NSO
"Nso Nso Nso" by Ben Agbo is a vibrant Igbo setting of the Sanctus, the great acclamation of praise sung during the Eucharistic Prayer. The title translates to "Holy, Holy, Holy," echoing the unending hymn of the angels.
In Nigerian Catholic parishes, the Sanctus is a moment of profound reverence that often lifts into joyful, rhythmic celebration. Agbo's solfa arrangement captures this beautifully, building from the solemn, repeated "Nsọ" into the bright, full-voiced "Hosanna n'elu" (Hosanna in the highest).
The familiar words—"Ebube gị juputara n'eligwe n'ala" (Heaven and earth are full of your glory)—are set to a melody that feels both majestic and deeply rooted in local choral traditions. It invites the entire congregation to join the choir loft in welcoming the Lord to the altar.
