NSO NSO NSO by Ugochukwu Martin — Lyrics
About NSO NSO NSO
"Nso Nso Nso" is a reverent and uplifting Igbo setting of the Sanctus, composed by Ugochukwu Martin. The piece opens with a gentle, repeated chant of "Nso," creating a deeply meditative atmosphere in the choir loft. As the four voice parts layer together, it feels as though the singers are joining the angels in their unending song of praise before the altar.
When the text moves into "Eligwe n'ala juputara n'ebube gị" (heaven and earth are full of your glory), the melody opens up, leading naturally into a bright and joyful "Hozana." This shift in energy captures the transition from solemn awe to triumphant praise. It is a wonderful choice for the Eucharistic Prayer, helping the congregation lift their hearts as the Mass approaches the moment of consecration.
