About NSO NSO NSO
"Nso Nso Nso" is a vibrant Igbo setting of the Sanctus, the great hymn of praise sung just before the Eucharistic Prayer. Johnpaul Chukwujekwu Okwor’s arrangement opens with a striking, rhythmic cascade of the word "Nso" (Holy), building a sense of awe and momentum before the choir proclaims God as the Lord of hosts ("Oseburuwa Chineke, Chukwu nke igwe ndi agha").
In the choir loft, this piece brings a joyful, full-bodied energy to the Mass. The overlapping voices in the opening measures give way to a bright, unified declaration that heaven and earth are full of God's glory ("Eluigwe na ala juputara n'ebube gi"). As the piece moves into the Hosanna section, the melody lifts, carrying the congregation into the solemnity and celebration of the consecration. It is a wonderful choice for festive Sunday liturgies where the community is ready to lift their voices in profound adoration.
