Nso Nso Nso by Okoli Kingsley Ifeanyichukwu — Lyrics
About Nso Nso Nso
"Nso Nso Nso" is a vibrant Igbo setting of the Sanctus, composed by Okoli Kingsley Ifeanyichukwu. It carries the majestic and reverent tone required for the Eucharistic Prayer, boldly proclaiming the holiness of the Lord God of hosts. The melody builds beautifully from its solemn opening declarations into a bright, rhythmic celebration of God's glory, capturing the awe of the heavenly liturgy.
In the choir loft, this piece brings a joyful, uplifting energy to the Mass, especially as the voices weave together for the "Hossana n'elu kasịelu" passages. The rhythmic drive of the solfa notation allows the different voice parts to support each other, creating a rich harmonic texture that resonates through the sanctuary. Originally prepared for a choral competition by the St. Albert Choir at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Chaplaincy, the arrangement features a spirited momentum that naturally invites the whole congregation to join in the heavenly chorus just before the consecration.
