Duo seraphim

Tiburtio Massaino's Duo seraphim opens with a vivid depiction of seraphim calling to one another, proclaiming the holiness of the Lord God of Hosts, whose glory fills all the earth. This powerful declaration of divine majesty is drawn from the prophet Isaiah. The motet then shifts its focus to the Trinity, identifying the Father, Word, and Holy Spirit as witnesses in heaven, who are one. The music builds to a triumphant reiteration of the Sanctus, echoing the celestial praise. Composed for a substantial double choir of SSAAT and AATTB voices, this sacred Latin motet offers a rich and complex sonic experience, ideal for exploring contrapuntal textures and dramatic textual expression.
