This setting of the Marian antiphon Assumpta est Maria by Pierre Colin is a substantial motet for a large choir. Written for SATTTB, it calls for a rich, resonant sound. Colin sets the Latin text with fervent devotion, his music reflecting the joy of the angels as Mary is assumed into heaven.
