Dextera Domini by Giovanni Carlo Maria Clari — Lyrics
Dextera Domini fecit virtutem, dextera Domini exaltavit me.
Non moriar, sed vivam, et narrabo opera Domini.
About Dextera Domini
This setting of the Latin text Dextera Domini would be particularly fitting for services during Eastertide, or on feasts of Apostles or martyrs. It is a motet suitable for SATB choir, setting biblical verses that speak of God's mighty right hand raising up the faithful and promising life to proclaim His works. The text, taken from Psalm 118, offers a powerful affirmation of faith and divine protection. Clari's music will offer a rewarding challenge to a choir looking to expand its sacred repertoire with expressive and sonically rich a cappella motets from the late Baroque/early Classical period.
