REFRAIN
We shall go up into God's house with shouts of joy
We shall go in to the house of the Lord.
VERSE 1
BASS
I rejoiced when I hear them say
Let us go to God's house
SOPRANO
And now our feet are standing
Within your gates O Jerusalem.
VERSE 2
BASS
Jerusalem is built as a city
Strongly compact
SOPRANO
It is there that the tribes go up
The tribes of the Lord.
VERSE 3
BASS
For Israel's law it is
There to praise the Lord's name
SOPRANO
There were set the thrones of judgement
Of the house of David.
VERSE 4
BASS
For the peace of Jerusalem pray
Peace be to your home
SOPRANO
May peace reign in your wall
In your palaces peace.
VERSE 5
BASS
For love of my brethren and friends
I say peace upon you
SOPRANO
For love of the house of the Lord
I will ask for your good.
