Oru itunanya by Fabian Anagwu — Lyrics
About Oru itunanya
"Oru Itunanya" is a vibrant Igbo offertory hymn that calls the congregation to open their eyes to the marvelous works of God. From the very first bass introduction, the song builds a sense of awe, inviting everyone to look closely at the blessings and grace God pours into our lives. It is a piece full of rhythmic energy, perfectly suited for the procession of gifts when the church is alive with movement and thanksgiving.
The verses, led by the tenors and basses before the full choir joins, ask a deeply personal question: since everything we have and our very lives come from God's hands, what will we use to thank Him? The lyrics remind us of His protection as we go out and come in, and His provision of rain and sunshine. As the choir sings "Wer' aṅụrị buteere ya onyinye," it encourages the people to bring their offerings with genuine joy, recognizing that giving back to God is the only fitting response to His wonderful deeds.
