EKWERE M N'OTU CHINEKE

"Ekwere m n'otu Chineke" is a vibrant Igbo setting of the Nicene Creed, the great profession of faith sung after the homily at Sunday Mass. Joshua S. Ugwuanyi’s arrangement brings a steady, confident rhythm to these ancient words, allowing the choir and congregation to declare their shared belief with genuine conviction.

The piece is structured with a recurring choral refrain—"Ekwere m n'otu Chineke, Nna ji ike niile" (I believe in one God, the Father almighty)—while cantors take up the narrative verses. This call-and-response style keeps the long text of the Creed moving beautifully.
