About Domine Jesu Christe
This setting of the Domine Jesu Christe text comes from a prayer for deliverance and eternal praise. The choir pleads with Christ to hear them, to keep them from separation, and to defend them from evil. The text yearns for closeness to God, wishing to join the angels and saints in everlasting adoration. Scipione Barotius sets this deeply felt Latin prayer for two SATB choirs.
