About Confitebor
Josef Rheinberger’s setting of Confitebor tibi, Domine, is a powerful motet for SATB choir in Latin. The music opens with a homophonic statement of the text, creating a sense of solemn devotion, before unfolding into more complex contrapuntal passages that showcase the independent lines of the four vocal parts. This SSAATTBB texture allows for rich harmonic colour and dynamic contrast as the choir expresses the psalm’s plea for divine strength and guidance.
