About Ave Maris Stella
This sacred setting of the Marian antiphon Ave Maris Stella for SAB choir brings the familiar Latin text to life. The composer Mariano Garau crafts a musical reflection on Mary as the Star of the Sea, the Mother of God, and the Gate of Heaven. The text pleads for peace, protection, and guidance, asking Mary to intercede on behalf of believers. It calls for purity of life and a safe journey towards eternal joy with Jesus. The hymn concludes with a doxology praising God the Father, Christ, and the Holy Spirit, acknowledging the unity of the Trinity.
