About Mimo l'Oluwa

"Mimo l'Oluwa" is a vibrant Yoruba setting of the Sanctus, bringing a rhythmic and joyous energy to the Eucharistic Prayer. Composed by Chris Oguade and arranged by Ehiosun Asuelimen and Victus Eze, the piece is written in a lively 12/8 meter that gives the "Holy, Holy, Holy" a natural, swaying momentum. The score is presented entirely in tonic sol-fa notation, a familiar and accessible format for many Nigerian choirs.

The choir leads the congregation in echoing the angels' praise ("Awọn Angẹli n'yin"), moving through the traditional declarations of heaven and earth's glory. During the Mass, this is the moment the earthly liturgy joins the heavenly chorus. The soaring "Hosana" section builds in intensity with layered vocal parts, culminating in a final, unified call to declare God's holiness together ("Ba mi pe Mimọ l'Oluwa!").
