Iho! Iho!! Iho!!!

"Iho! Iho!! Iho!!!" is a vibrant Idoma setting of the Sanctus, bringing the traditional "Holy, Holy, Holy" into the heart of local worship. Composed by Emmanuel Meshach, the piece captures the joyful reverence of the Eucharistic prayer. When the choir leads the congregation in singing "Ondu Owoicho omanchala" (Lord God of hosts), the familiar words of the Mass take on a deeply personal and cultural resonance.

Written with a lively allegretto tempo, the music carries a bright, uplifting energy that fits perfectly at the conclusion of the Preface. The rhythmic flow of the solfa notation guides the voices through the soaring "Hossana ipi choicho" (Hosanna in the highest), creating a moment of unified praise. It is an excellent example of how indigenous languages enrich the liturgy, allowing the faithful to welcome the Lord's presence with authentic, full-throated joy.
