Ecce nunc benedicite

Carlo Cozzi’s motet Ecce nunc benedicite unfolds with a rich SATTB texture, immediately drawing the listener into its devotional atmosphere. The composer skilfully crafts a sonorous musical setting for this Latin text, which is drawn from Psalm 134, a Song of Ascents. The words invite the servants of the Lord to bless Him, especially those who stand in His house, and urge them to lift their hands in the sanctuary and bless Him through the night. The music mirrors the text’s call to praise, with soaring vocal lines and moments of contemplative stillness. This motet offers a profound expression of sacred praise, suitable for liturgical settings or concert performance where its grand, four-part harmony can be fully appreciated.
