EBUBE CHUKWU by Jude Nnam — Lyrics
About EBUBE CHUKWU
"Ebube Chukwu" is a vibrant and joyful Igbo thanksgiving song composed by Jude Nnam. From the very first bright call of "Bịanụ lelee!" (Come and see!), the piece invites the whole congregation to witness and celebrate God's goodness. The lively tempo and rhythmic vocal lines create an atmosphere of genuine celebration, making it a favorite for festive moments in the liturgy.
Choirs most often sing this piece during the Offertory procession. The verses beautifully capture the spirit of bringing gifts to the altar, with the third verse explicitly mentioning coming forward with beautiful gifts, dances, and a willing heart ("Onyinye mara mma ka m jiri bịa"). As the choir sings about answered prayers and kneeling in gratitude, the music encourages the faithful to dance forward with their own offerings, united in praising the glory of God.
