Congratulamini mihi omnes

This motet by Giovanni Battista Riccio opens with a joyful invitation to share in heavenly celebration. The text, sung in Latin, proclaims that all should rejoice with the singer because Saint N. triumphs today with the angels in heaven. The music is set for ATTB voices, allowing for rich harmonic textures as the verses unfold. Various sections call for solo voices, adding dramatic contrast before the full ensemble gathers to praise the Lord with instruments and joyous song. The overall mood is one of profound exultation, urging listeners to sing a song of happiness and give glory to God for the salvation and liberation found in Christ the Redeemer.
