Confitebor tibi by Giovanni Battista Riccio — Lyrics
Confitebor tibi Domine in toto corde meo;
narrabo mirabilia tua
Laetabor & exultabor in te; psallam nomini tuo
Altissime
Exultabit cor meum in salutari tuo:
Cantabo Domino qui bona tribuit mihi;
Psallam nomini Domini Altissimi. [Alleluia.]

About Confitebor tibi
Giovanni Battista Riccio's Confitebor tibi is a sacred song for two basses. The text, in Latin and Italian, opens with verses from Psalm 9, expressing profound gratitude and praise to God for His wondrous deeds. The singer declares their intention to rejoice and sing His name, exulting in salvation and celebrating the Lord's generosity. The inclusion of variants suggests a flexible text, possibly incorporating further scriptural references to God's protection and eternal reign. This work offers a rich opportunity for expressive vocal performance, drawing on the devotional spirit of its sacred text and the resonant qualities of the double-bass voicing.
