About Amarachukwu

"Amarachukwu" (The Grace of God) is a vibrant Igbo thanksgiving and offertory hymn composed by Jude Nnam. The song is a profound reflection on God's unmerited favor, expressing awe at how His grace surrounds the singer from every side. The lyrics ask, "What did I do that You love me more than all people?" and acknowledge that every blessing comes purely from divine grace.

During the Mass, this piece is perfectly suited for the Offertory procession or as a thanksgiving hymn. The verses bring the message down to everyday life, thanking God for healing from sicknesses like headaches and toothaches, and joyfully promising to bring whatever one has—whether yams, cocoyams, chickens, or goats—as an offering to the Creator.

Choirs will enjoy the lively, rhythmic call-and-response structure that is characteristic of Nigerian Catholic worship. The melody is carried primarily by the soprano line, supported by rich, rhythmic harmonies in the lower voices that emphasize the overflowing nature of God's grace.
