Sa Masu Albarka

When a couple steps forward to exchange their vows, the choir's role is to wrap them in prayer and celebration. This two-part wedding piece does exactly that, blending solemn petition with pure joy. The first section, "Sa Masu Albarka," is a heartfelt Hausa prayer asking the Lord to take the lead in the new marriage. It speaks directly to the bride and groom—reminding the Amarya (bride) and Ango (groom) to leave their parents, cling to one another, and seek the Holy Spirit's guidance every day.

The mood then shifts into the bright, celebratory "Happy Day." Singing in a mix of English and Hausa, the choir rejoices in what God has done, declaring that no one should put asunder what He has joined together. It is a perfect suite for a wedding Mass or service, moving naturally from the solemnity of the vows to the festive thanksgiving that follows. Singing this, we remind the couple that their union is anchored in faith and surrounded by a community that shares in their happiness.
