About Uranran T'Oritse

"Uranran T'Oritse" is a vibrant Itsekiri setting of the Gloria, bringing the joyful "Glory to God in the highest" into the heart of the Mass. Written with a lively, rhythmic feel, it invites the congregation to join the choir in a soaring hymn of praise. The piece opens with a bright call in the tenor and bass lines before the full choir bursts into the main chorus.

The verses carry the traditional text of the Gloria, moving from adoration of the Father to the supplication of the Son, and culminating in a grand Trinitarian close. Choirs will enjoy the dynamic contrast between the solo-led verses and the robust, full-voiced "Tutti" in the final stanza, ending with a resounding "Itse" (Amen).
