THE GRACE

"The Grace" is a gentle, flowing choral setting of the familiar blessing from 2 Corinthians 13:14. Chukwuebuka Ozioko originally composed this short piece as a birthday dedication, but its text makes it a natural fit for the end of any choir rehearsal, fellowship meeting, or liturgical gathering. When the voices blend to sing the opening lines, it brings a quiet sense of calm and closure to the group.

The arrangement is written for four parts, with the soprano line carrying the main melody through the well-known words. The voices echo and support each other, particularly as they move into the phrases about the love of God and the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit. It is a simple, earnest prayer that asks for God's abiding presence to remain with the community.

Choirs will find this piece especially useful as a dismissal or a parting blessing.
