THE GRACE by Ozioko, Chukwuebuka — Lyrics
About THE GRACE
"The Grace" is a gentle choral setting of the familiar apostolic blessing from 2 Corinthians 13:14. For many choirs and congregations, these words are the definitive close to a gathering, rehearsal, or Mass. Chukwuebuka Ozioko’s arrangement captures the unifying spirit of this prayer, wrapping the well-known text in warm four-part harmony.
The piece opens with a serene, adagio tempo, allowing the melody to carry the initial blessing while the lower voices provide a supportive foundation. As the text moves through the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, the parts weave together, echoing the deep sense of communion the words invoke. It builds to a quiet, lingering "Amen" that leaves a lasting sense of peace in the choir loft and the pews.
This is a fitting choice for a dismissal hymn, a post-service reflection, or simply as a closing prayer at the end of a long choir practice. It is short enough to be learned quickly but rich enough to become a staple in a choir's repertoire, sending the faithful forth with a true sense of divine accompaniment.
