"Nessun Dorma" is one of the most recognizable tenor arias in classical music, originally composed by Giacomo Puccini for the final act of his opera Turandot. While it is not a liturgical hymn sung during Mass, Nigerian Catholic choirs with a strong classical repertoire often prepare it for special concerts, choir competitions, and grand festive events. The Italian words evoke a mood of intense night-time anticipation, mystery, and ultimate triumph.

This particular score, arranged and scripted in tonic sol-fa by Ezenmadu Chisom Edmund, adapts the sweeping orchestral and vocal lines for a local choral setting. It allows a gifted soloist to lead the iconic, soaring melody while the rest of the choir provides the dramatic four-part (SATB) harmonic support in the background.
