About Ich will meinen Mund auftun in gleichnisse

Augustin Pfleger's Ich will meinen Mund auftun in gleichnisse is a sacred cantata setting a German text. The work is scored for SSTB voices. The libretto draws on the parable of the sower from the Gospel of Luke, presenting a dialogue between Christ and the faithful soul (Fidelis anima). Christ announces his intention to speak in parables, revealing hidden truths about the world. The soul expresses a desire to hear and understand these teachings, likening them to music played on a harp. Christ then recounts the parable, detailing the fate of seeds sown on different types of ground, concluding with the seed that falls on good soil and yields a plentiful harvest.
