Hilff uns du trewer Gott by Leonhard Lechner — Lyrics
Hilff uns du trewer Gott
in unser grossen not
und wann wir zu dir schreyen
laß uns dein gnad erfrewen
hilff Gott in unser klagen
laß uns auch nit verzagen
hilff uns von allem sünden
laß uns den tod nicht emtpfinden
Sonder durch dein genad
wie du versprochen hast
durch Cristum uberwinden.

About Hilff uns du trewer Gott
A prayer for divine assistance during times of great need, this motet by Leonhard Lechner is sung in German by a choir of SATTB voices. The text pleads for God's mercy and strength, asking for guidance on the path of Christ and protection from worldly troubles. The composer's setting reflects the earnest supplication of the lyrics, offering a powerful expression of faith and dependence. It is suitable for occasions when a choir wishes to convey a message of profound spiritual reliance and hope, particularly in moments of communal or individual hardship.
