God So Loved the World by Roger Petrich — Lyrics
Sic [enim] Deus dilexit mundum, ut Filium suum unigenitum daret: ut
omnis qui credit in eum, non pereat, sed habeat vitam æternam.

About God So Loved the World
This powerful SATB anthem is suitable for services during Lent or Easter. Roger Petrich sets the familiar words from John 3:16-17, contrasting the Latin original with a sensitive English translation. The text speaks of God's immense love for the world, offering salvation through His only Son, rather than judgment. The music aims to reflect the profound theological message of redemption and eternal life, providing a moment of deep reflection and spiritual reassurance for the choir and congregation alike.
