When the choir strikes up the Gloria, it is meant to be a moment of pure, uncontained joy. Alex O. Iyinbor’s "Glory To God" captures exactly that spirit. Composed in 2004 for the St. Cecilia Choirs Association at Our Lady of Fatima Cathedral in Kano, this piece brings a bright, rhythmic energy to the ancient words of the Mass.

The arrangement breaks the traditional Gloria text into five distinct verses, allowing the choir to deliver the prayer with a steady, marching momentum. The refrain is short and memorable, making it easy for the congregation to catch the melody and join in the praise. It is a wonderful choice for festive Sunday Masses, Easter, or Christmas, where the choir loft needs a setting that feels both reverent and wonderfully alive.
