GLORIA

"Gloria" is a bright and rhythmic setting of the ancient Christian hymn, arranged by the well-known Nigerian composer Jude Nnam. Written in a lively Allegro tempo, this piece transforms the traditional prose of the Gloria into a highly accessible, responsorial song that invites the whole congregation to join in the praise.

The arrangement cleverly divides the lengthy liturgical text into nine short verses meant for the choir or cantors. After each verse, the entire church responds with the joyful and instantly recognizable refrain, "Glory be to God in the highest, Amen, Amen."
