Exaltata est

Manoel Dias de Oliveira was a leading composer of the late Baroque period in Brazil. His sacred motets often set devotional Latin texts. Exaltata est is a powerful setting for SATB choir of an antiphon celebrating the Assumption of Mary. The text proclaims that the Mother of God has been exalted above the choirs of angels to the heavenly kingdom, and that the Virgin Mary ascends to heaven, reigning eternally with Christ.
