About Ecce sacerdos magnus
Francesco Feroci’s setting of Ecce sacerdos magnus is ideal for occasions celebrating a bishop or significant church leader. Sung in Latin, this TTB piece sets the antiphon text which describes a great priest who pleased God and was found righteous. The setting reflects the solemnity and reverence appropriate for such a figure, with the male voices creating a rich and resonant sound. It is a powerful and moving work, suitable for processions or as a moment of reflection during a service.
