Dixit Dominus a 4

A powerful setting for SATB choir and organ of Psalm 109, Dixit Dominus, this Latin text is a key part of the traditional Vespers service. Cifra’s music brings the ancient words to life, depicting the Lord’s sovereignty and triumph over enemies. The writing is rich and devotional, characteristic of sacred music from the Baroque period, yet accessible for a standard choir. The text itself proclaims divine authority, with verses detailing the establishment of power and eternal priesthood. This piece offers a significant opportunity for expressive, dynamic singing, fitting for a variety of liturgical and concert settings.
