The composer Rinaldo del Mel paints a vivid scene of communal worship in this SSATTB motet, Decantabat populus Israel. The Latin text describes the people of Israel singing praises to God, with David and his musicians accompanying them on the harp. It evokes a joyous atmosphere of celebration and devotion, further amplified by the inclusion of the Alleluia.
