DAALU (NNA)

"Daalu Nna" (Thank you, Father) is a grand, vibrant Igbo praise motet. It was composed for the 2019 F.I.L.M Festival, bringing together rich choral harmonies and traditional Igbo percussion instruments like the Ogene, Ishaka, Igba, Okpokolo, and Udu.

The piece opens with an invitation to join in thanksgiving ("Onye ọbụla soro mu kelee Chineke"), building into a majestic declaration of God's greatness. As the choir moves through the sections, the energy lifts, calling the congregation to exalt the Lord ("Bulie ya elu") and praising Him with powerful traditional titles like "Ọkemmiri na-ebu ogwe" (The great water that carries the bridge) and "Odogwu n'agha" (The mighty warrior).

With its driving rhythm and layered vocal parts, this anthem is perfect for festive occasions, grand thanksgiving processions, or choir concerts. It captures the exuberant spirit of Nigerian Catholic worship, where voices and indigenous instruments unite to give God the highest praise.
