Cum complerentur

This responsory, Cum complerentur, sets the scene of the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Jeffrey Quick has arranged the Latin text for a three-part choir of Soprano, Tenor, and Bass voices. The music opens with the disciples gathered together, experiencing the sudden sound and presence of the Holy Spirit filling the house, as described in the Book of Acts. The setting of this text, with its dramatic biblical narrative and the soaring alleluias, makes it suitable for services during the Easter season, particularly for Pentecost itself.
