About Crux fidelis
Jennifer Bastable sets a familiar Latin text for SSATB choir. Crux fidelis is a well-known Marian antiphon from the Roman Catholic tradition, traditionally sung during Lent and on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross. The text speaks of the Cross as unique and noble, surpassing all trees for its fruit and flowers, and calls the wood, nails, and burden sweet.
