About Christe Redemptor omnium, conserva
Jan Le Febure’s setting of the Latin text Christe Redemptor omnium, conserva is written for SATB choir. As an office hymn, it belongs to the tradition of sacred music used in liturgical settings. The text is a plea for protection from all manner of evils, invoking the intercession of the Virgin Mary, heavenly spirits, prophets, apostles, martyrs, confessors, virgins, and monks, asking to be made sharers in Christ. It concludes with a prayer for the removal of the perfidious nation from the boundaries of believers, that all may be ruled as one flock by the Father, and a doxology to the Trinity.
