About Cantabo Domino
Alessandro Grandi's sacred motet Cantabo Domino is set for solo mezzo-soprano voice. The Latin text, drawn from the Psalms, expresses a profound devotion and commitment to God. The singer proclaims, 'I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will play to my God as long as I exist.' The lyrics continue with a prayer for God's favour and a desire for righteous living, concluding with a blessing upon the soul. This intimate setting allows the soloist to convey the personal and heartfelt nature of the psalmist's praise, making it a powerful devotional work for a solo voice.
