Canite tuba

The text of Canite tuba is a joyful proclamation, calling all nations to announce the imminent arrival of our saviour God. Its Latin words are suited to a sacred context, and the composer Curtio Valcampi sets this fervent message for a large SSATTB choir. The six-part texture allows for rich harmonic writing and dynamic contrast, providing ample opportunity for expressive vocal colours. This motet would serve well in a service or concert setting, its powerful text and intricate vocal demands offering a moving experience for both performers and listeners.
