Bia Muo Nso

"Bia Muo Nso" is a fervent Igbo setting of the Pentecost Sequence, the ancient poetic hymn sung just before the Gospel on Pentecost Sunday. The title is a direct plea for the Holy Spirit to come, capturing the deep longing of the church for the Spirit's presence and asking the Lord of all to send down His radiant light from heaven.

In the choir loft, this piece unfolds as a powerful, ten-verse prayer. The lyrics walk through the traditional invocations of the Sequence, calling on the Spirit as the Comforter, the rest in our labor, and the cooling shade in the heat.
