Benedicite a 12 by Andrea Bianchi — Lyrics
Benedicite omnia opera Domini, Domino:
laudate et superexaltate eum in saecula.
Benedicite Angeli Domini, Domino,
benedicite coeli Domino.
Benedicite aquae omnes quae super caelos sunt, Domino.
Benedicite omnes virtutes Domini, Domino.

About Benedicite a 12
This striking motet, Benedicite a 12, is scored for an impressive twelve voices, divided into three SATB choirs. The Latin text, drawn from the Book of Daniel, is a powerful summons for all creation to bless the Lord. It opens with a universal call to all the works of the Lord, moving through angels, heavens, waters, virtues, sun, moon, stars, lightning, and clouds, each urged to praise and exalt God. The motet concludes with a unified praise of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Its grand scale and exultant text make it ideal for festival occasions or services where a sense of divine majesty is paramount.
