About Bendito sejais
This traditional Portuguese hymn offers a heartfelt expression of praise and adoration for Jesus. Sung in unison, its text repeatedly exclaims "Bendito sejais!" (Blessed art thou!), addressing celestial angels, redeemed mortals, and reflecting on the profound mysteries of Christ's humble presence and infinite love. The lyrics move from external adoration to an intimate contemplation of God's boundless gift to humanity, culminating in a sense of awe at the divine incarnation. The music, suitable for devotional settings, carries the weight of these reverent sentiments.
