Baba Mimo Ade by Adefemi Olajide — Lyrics
About Baba Mimo Ade
Subtitled "Father, we have come to worship you," Adefemi Olajide's "Baba Mimo Ade" is a reverent Yoruba entrance and prayer hymn. Marked *Andante Maestoso*, the piece opens with a solemn solo call, evoking the image of a congregation approaching God's presence to bow down and seek His face. The soloist's plea for forgiveness and acceptance sets a deeply worshipful tone before the full choir joins in.
When the choir enters, the music blossoms into a rich, layered prayer. The voices weave together to ask for God's guidance, His descending blessing, and His divine seal upon their petitions. With its repeated pleas of "gbo adura wa" (hear our prayer) and a final, resounding "Amin" in the name of Jesus, this hymn is beautifully suited for the start of Mass or any moment of dedicated congregational prayer.
