About Baba Mimo Ade

"Baba Mimo Ade" is a reverent Yoruba gathering song that beautifully sets the tone for worship. The title translates to "Holy Father, we have come," and from the very first solo lines, it captures the humility of a congregation stepping into God's presence. The lyrics speak of bowing down, seeking forgiveness for sins, and asking the Lord to hear our prayers. It is a wonderful piece for the Entrance procession or as a preparatory prayer before Mass begins.

The arrangement by Aderemi D. Olajide opens with a gentle, majestic solo that invites the whole church to focus their hearts. When the full choir enters, the harmony swells with petitions to the "Ọba Olum'ọna" (the King who guides our path) and the "Ọba Olupese" (the King who provides). We ask Him to send down His Holy Spirit and seal our prayers in the name of Jesus. Singing this piece brings a deep sense of peace to the choir loft, reminding us that we are simply children coming before our Father to seek His blessing.
