About Aus dem Himmelssall
This moving Christmas motet, Aus dem Himmelssall, offers a serene reflection on the Nativity. The Luxembourgish text speaks of a star falling from the heavens into our time of suffering, brought by God and Mary. It continues, describing an innocent rose, Mary, carrying the Christ child, whose light will illuminate the world, bringing peace and transforming every home into Bethlehem. The final verse expresses a journey towards heavenly halls, guided by this divine light, through earthly suffering, to God and Mary. The SATB voicing allows for rich harmonies to support this poignant narrative of hope and divine intervention during the Christmas season.
