About Attende Domine
Richard Morris's Attende Domine is a sacred motet for TBB voices, sung in Latin. The text is a profound plea for mercy and forgiveness, invoking God as the King of all and the Redeemer. It details the lament of sinners looking up in tears, begging Christ to hear their prayers and cleanse them of their sins. The choir will express the confession of wrongdoing and the hope for divine clemency, as the text moves from acknowledging sins to an appeal for God's gracious indulgence and ultimate redemption. The composer also includes a reflection on Christ's innocent suffering and condemnation for humanity's sake.
