ANYỊ G'EJE N'IHU CHINEKE

"Anyị g'eje n'ihu Chineke" is a vibrant Igbo entrance hymn that captures the profound joy and reverence of gathering for the Holy Mass. Composed by Jim Maduh, the song is an invitation to the congregation to approach God's presence with thanksgiving. The lyrics articulate the purpose of the gathering: to use the great Sacrifice of the Mass ("Aja nke Missa") to praise the Lord whose goodness has no end, and to seek His mercy and forgiveness.

This score also includes a solemn penitential chant, "Onye Bi N'igwe Mee Ebere," often used during retreats or as a service of sorrow. Together, these pieces guide the choir and congregation through the essential movements of entering into worship—first acknowledging our need for God's mercy, and then stepping forward with joyful hearts to offer the ultimate prayer of the Church.
