Amen dico vobis

Amen dico vobis sets a passage from the Gospel of Mark, where Jesus assures his disciples that whatever they ask for in prayer, believing, they will receive. The text's message of faith and divine promise is powerfully conveyed through this SATB setting. John Reager's composition is a sacred motet for unaccompanied voices, written in Latin. Its context as a communion hymn suggests a contemplative and devotional atmosphere, making it suitable for moments of reflection and spiritual connection within a service. The four-part harmony offers rich textures to explore the profound assurance offered by the text, creating an inspiring musical experience rooted in a message of hope and steadfast belief.
