Amen dico vobis

Nobuaki Izawa sets a text from the Gospel of Mark, Amen dico vobis, in this SATB motet. The Latin text, traditionally sung as a communion hymn, speaks of the power of prayer and faith: 'Truly I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.' Izawa’s setting offers a fresh perspective on this profound scriptural message, exploring its devotional and theological implications through the rich textures of a four-part choir. This motet is well-suited for liturgical settings or concert programmes seeking sacred music with a strong textual foundation and a contemplative mood.
